Moving rows in OO.o Calc (OpenOffice.org Spreadsheet)

with 4 comments

It turns out that neither Calc nor Gnumeric has an option to move (or swap) rows (or regions) up and down (while MS Excel does). (Someone asked about moving rows in Calc on their mailing list.)

Bugs have been filed (at least) at

http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=21280

http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=40285

I installed the CellMover macro from oomacros.org, and it works perfectly.

Rather perversely, the documentation on how to install this library (and others) is in another library entirely, which can be got from their site.

Update: See the comments; it appears to have been fixed now.

  1. Thanks for the update; I wouldn’t have noticed it.

  2. Hold alt while moving to swap the rows out.
